Manually Download Xbox One Controller Driver For Win7
Hello.
As a gift, I've purchased for my nephew an Xbox One Controller (for PC) to use as a wired controller on his Windows 7 PC. It is my understanding that for use with Windows 7, a driver download will be necessary (unlike Windows 10, which natively supports the controller without the need to install drivers).
The problem is that the target Windows 7 machine *has no internet access* (which is one reason why it hasn't yet been upgraded to Windows 10.) My intention was to use my own system to download the drivers onto a USB stick, and then send it (along with the controller) to my nephew, who could install the drivers directly from the USB stick. Unfortunately, I've searched online for a download link to the Windows 7 drivers for that controller, but all I can find is instructions on how to allow Windows to automatically download and install the drivers. That would of course be fine if internet access was available to that PC, but it's not. What I need is a link to a file that I can download, copy to a USB stick, and then run separately as an installer on the target machine.
Can anyone point me to such a link?

It is February 2016 and still helping folks fix stupid Windows Update failing to properly install Xbox One controller drivers. I just ran into this issue, and this post helped me.

It's also unfortunate that my nephew's system is a full PC tower, and is simply not portable. Otherwise, we might have been able to bring it to someplace where we could temporarily hook it up to the internet. That however is not possible.
Oct 23, 2018 - Less of a complete overhaul of the Xbox 360 gamepad and more of a. The Xbox One controller supports Windows PC and setting it up only.
Any help would be appreciated.

Considering Windows support for the Xbox 360 controllers has been a given for a very long time, Xbox One owners as well as PC gamers wanting to use the revamped console controller have been waiting for similar treatment since the launch of the console last November.
Now the wait is over. Microsoft released today official Xbox One Controller Drivers for Windows 32-bit and 64-bit. Although there is no exact mention of which versions of Windows are supported, everything points to Windows 7 and 8. That's the good news, but the better news is game compatibility.
• 'Tracking' is when specific servers help swarm users find each other. • Swarm members use special Torrent client software to upload, download, and reconstruct the many file bits into complete usable files. 
• 'Swarming' is about splitting large files into hundreds of smaller 'bits' and then sharing those bits across a 'swarm' of dozens of linked users.
The Xbox One controller should work with any title that is compatible with the Xbox 360 controller. And as one would assume this far in the game, that list is quite extensive. If you're wondering exactly how extensive, you can check out this wiki.

..my opinion of the Xbox One controller has significantly improved. I've grown to like the feel of the thing in my hands, including the contrast between the solid controller and those wiggly triggers. Many hours of Titanfall have helped me get a sense of just how good the Xbox One controller is for first-person shooters. It's enough of an improvement that if and when Microsoft finally makes the controller work with PC games, I'll switch.
